Senator Ron Wyden sent a letter to the chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on Oct. 3 asking for an additional 45 day comment period beyond the current 90 days.

The senator said the public will either have limited time or no time to review NEPA-required information because it isn't available and won't be until before or even after the Dec. 4 deadline.

Wyden listed the three NEPA items:

• Airspace review around North Bend.

• Pipeline route maps have not been provided at meeting meetings, meaning apparently the pipeline route is not established.

• Tsunami/earthquake analysis required by FERC apparently is not due until Dec. 4.
