A fundraising concert to benefit the new Keystone Club, a community service club within the Shady Cove Boys & Girls Club, will be held Sept. 10, from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Shady Cove Middle School gym. The 5th annual Horndogg Golf Tournament is Sept. 19, at 7:45 a.m. at Laurel Hill Golf Course. There is a $35 entry fee. Prizes for two men’s KP, longest drive, lowest score, women’s KP and couple’s lowest score. EP VFW& Auxiliary

The September meeting of the Eagle Point Chapter of VFW and Ladies Auxiliary will be held the second Saturday in September, which is Sept. 11. This is due to the Labor Day holiday. The meeting will be at 9 a.m. on Sept. 11 at the Eagle Point Grange.

Mobile home park rent control meeting, Sept. 11

Rents in Manufactured Home Parks are going through the roof. Peter Ferris, Executive Director of Oregon Manufactured Homeowners United and lobbyist, is writing legislation to get much-needed rent control in the State of Oregon. Sponsoring the Senate Bill is State Representative, Peter Buckley (D) of Ashland.

A kickoff campaign to organize and energize the 100,000 homeowners living in mobile parks is Sept. 11 at the Medford Main Library at 9 a.m. Both Buckley and Ferris will be present to speak with park dwellers.

Residents from around the valley are encouraged to attend and voice their opinions. This is an opportunity for park homeowners to come together and help themselves get out from under the unfair practices of some mobile home park owners. Ferris and Buckley are offering a chance to get out from under the radar and be counted. For more information call Monika Sayre at 541-826-2139.

White City Fun Day

White City is planning their annual Family Fun Day to be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be at Burns Park, on Division Road, next to the Cascade Swimming Pool and the Skateboard Park.

There will be free games and activities such as bounce houses, a dunk tank and a water slide. This, in addition to a bar-b-q will make for a fun time.

This year’s Family Fun Day is sponsored by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, White City Community Improvement Association, White City Charitable Foundation, Young Marines of Southern Oregon, Faith Christian Center and South Valley Bank.
